Vrat Katha (Sacred Story)
King Vaikhanasa was a great devotee but was troubled by a recurring dream where his dead father appeared in hell, suffering terribly. The king consulted sage Parvata, who advised him to observe Mokshada Ekadashi and transfer the merit to his father.
The king observed the fast with complete devotion. On the night of Ekadashi, his father appeared in the dream again, but this time radiant and joyful, informing the king that he had attained moksha due to the merit of the Ekadashi observance.
Lord Krishna told Yudhishthira that this Ekadashi has the power to liberate not only the observer but also their ancestors from various realms and grant them moksha.
