Pre-Observance Preparations
Proper preparation is crucial for a meaningful Purnima observance. Begin preparations 2-3 days before to ensure you have everything needed and your mind is properly prepared for the sacred day.

Begin reducing heavy, tamasic foods. Increase meditation and prayer time. Resolve conflicts and seek forgiveness. Set spiritual intentions and goals.

Take purifying bath with natural herbs. Trim nails and maintain cleanliness. Wear clean, simple clothing. Prepare for extended periods of sitting.

Gather fresh flowers (preferably white lotus), incense sticks, oil lamps, camphor, sacred ash, fruits and milk for offering, pure drinking water in clean vessels.

Complete all worldly tasks. Make Sankalpa (sacred vow). Study Purnima significance. Prepare mind for fasting. Arrange puja items and light lamp in puja room.

Dawn Rituals & Morning Observance
Ideal Timing
Begin your observance during Brahma Muhurta (approximately 96 minutes before sunrise) for maximum spiritual benefits. This period is considered most conducive for spiritual practices. If Brahma Muhurta is not possible, start at least 30 minutes before sunrise.
